What is the counseling experience like?

* Counseling is as individual as the person participating in the process.
* The basis of this experience is founded on the counseling relationship built between the counselor and the individual.
* Research shows that the best results from counseling occur when there is a good working relationship between the counselor and the individual.
* To explore the relationship between mental illness symptoms and addiction (co-occurring disorders)

How long does counseling take?

* If a person has a specific problem or goal they want to address, they may need only 2-3 sessions.
* If a person has a complex issue they want to address, it may take weeks to months.
* Typically, individuals will see their counselor on a weekly basis.
– However, during the initial assessment, both the person(s) and the counselor collaborate together to complete an individualized treatment plan.
– It is at this time the number of sessions and the frequency of meeting will be discussed.

What if I cannot afford counseling services?

* Please contact our office prior to appointment to discuss our package rates.

Do you take insurance?

* Journey to Peace Counseling Services now takes AHCCCS insurance! Other insurance plans are currently considered out of network; however, many insurance plans offer out-of-network mental health and/or addiction benefits. Please contact your insurance plan to determine your specific benefits.
* My practice will provide you with a super bill with the services you have received that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance plan to determine your specific benefits.
